Age is a blessing and gift. As we age or just get older, we gain wisdom and knowledge from days, months, even years of experience. I believe many would agree with this truth. And although we will not know everything there is to learn, or even come close, by the time we have reached our maximum age, I do believe there is much to be learned from those who are older and have experienced more time in life. That is one reason I love to overhear/ listen to old ladies, especially the ones in my ward.
Today as I was listening around I saw a couple of older ladies in the back row.
The back row is a sure sign of entertainment. Only the best gossip... I mean knowledge... comes from the back row. These women did not fail my expectations. I think with age comes the added ability to get away with saying anything without judgement. I also think that times have changed so much. Today people are taught to be conscientious, politically correct, and overall completely appropriate in a social conversation. When I listen to older people talk, sometimes I know that they didn't have to think about it so much back in the day, because they use more freedom to speak what they think. These old ladies were so cute too. They reminded exactly of the old ladies in a classic movie The Ghost and Mr. Chicken. Please imagine those ladies in the back row of Relief Society and you can know what I experienced today in church.
They were so funny and I love them.
