Today my mother and I joined forces to take on an overwhelming task.
The Task: Storage Room/ Craft Room
The Time Frame: Under Two Weeks
Day one was insane. There was so much stuff that it was overflowing off the shelves and almost out of the door. So a system was created. My mom took charge of all the stuff. I took charge of putting all the stuff in various piles. The DI pile, the school pile, the crafty pile, and the trash can. I was quite pleased when on day one we had a trunk full of DI stuff and 6 trash bags full of well... trash. To think it has only just begun. (begun? is that a word?).
My favorite phrases from the day...
"What they/he/she doesn't know won't hurt them" (as we threw out items that were not technically my mothers or mine).
"But what if we find ourselves in a crisis. We will be sorry we threw this out." (As we threw out or saved things you would only need in a major crisis).
But we did it. Day one is done. And now if we ever encounter a major crisis we can actually get to the stuff we would need in a major crisis.
