I would say my roommates and I are pretty tight.
On occasion though we can't help but be awkward. I mean there are situations where you would watch our interactions and think we didn't even know each other.
Prime example #1- It was my birthday and my roommates were going to make me dinner. I was doing my visiting teaching and came home where the dinner was ready on the counter. I was clueless and didn't even see it. And they didn't tell me about it. So they were just being awkward and wouldn't tell me they had dinner. I finally had to ask why they were being so awk. Then we had dinner :)
Prime Example #2- Sometimes when we run into each other on campus and we are not expecting it we say hi in a most awkward fashion. Which is exactly what happened to Katie O'Brian Golding and myself today.
Katie O'Brian Golding comes next in the age line. (Well really it is Stacey, Me, Katie, but let's not talk about me).
Katie was the new girl this year. Only maddie kind of knew her when she moved in. My first memory of Katie O'Brian is when she was moving in her stuff for the first time Ash and I were in the kitchen eating. She walked in, said hi, walked to her room, walked back out, said see ya, and left. She didn't even wait for a response. I don't even think we made eye contact. It was a really great start. We make eye contact these days. And say a whole lot more to each other.
Katie is loud. And I LOVE that about her. She is always telling us a story or about her day or about someone else's day or about something random. I am not very good about that, but I love hearing all of her stories. I love when she comes home from dates because you do not have to shine a spotlight on her and interrogate her (unlike me). She will just let you know.
We are a lot different in the above ways.
But we are also a lot the same.
It's like a perfect balance.
I sure love Katie O'Brian. I am pretty glad she was the random roommate in Allred 11.
Katie also really likes Yams. Like everyday of her life.
