Do You Remember?

I have recently been considering my childhood.
When I was little I lived in the greatest house ever. It was the perfect place for exploration and adventures. There were creepy back tunnels, doors out to the roof, trees to climb, a scary old shed, a large garden... it was incredible. I miss it some days. My childhood and the house.
There are significant moments of my childhood in that house that I can remember quite specifically.
Once in first grade I felt sick so I stayed home. But then I ended up sneaking out to play in the leaves (it was fall) and I felt really guilty about my behavior. Another time I rode my bike all the way around the block without even telling my mom I was going. I was a little risk taker. Except not really (I felt guilty about that too). I remember having picnics out in the back yard when it was summer. I remember eating mint leaves at the neighbors. Jordan fell off his bike once and I am pretty sure blood was everywhere. I remember one Valentines day the power went out and they wind was wild. Building snowmen. "Shoveling" the sidewalk to collect coins at christmas for my kindergarten. A pool/ sandbox in our backyard. A fort behind the trees.
So many memories.
Sometimes I just walk myself through my old house in my mind so I don't forget.
I love remembering my life as a child too. I remember the world was so big. I remember discovering new things. I remember how incredible my little world was. I sometimes just want to take things in as I remember taking things in like I did when I was a child.
Weird. But cool.
